The Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) - Faculty of Civil Engineering (FCE) is one of the largest schools providing civil engineering university education with approx. 5 500 students. The Centre of Experimental Geotechnics (CEG) is a department of the Faculty focusing on geotechnica laboratory tests and on in-situ experimental geotechnics. CEG operates the Josef underground laboratory; a unique place for research projects and providing practical experience to students. It is a member of IAEA Underground Research Facilities network. From 2010 CEG operates The Regional Underground Research Centre Josef (URC) which provides service and working space to companies in related fields of interest.
